Q. What is Lp(a)?

A: Lp(a) (not LDL cholesterol) is the true factor that causes occlusive cardiovascular disease, leading to heart attacks and strokes. Lp(a) is a pinch-hitter for Vitamin C when the intake of this vitamin is less than is necessary to make collagen for lesion repair.

Q. How Much HEART TECHNOLOGY should I take?

A: Linus Pauling's specific cardiovascular recommendations are from 3000 mg (preventive) to 6000 mg (therapeutic) or more of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), and from 2000 to 6000 mg L-lysine. Both are essential nutrients, foods required for life in smaller doses.

Q. Why is HEART TECHNOLOGY Called Nature's Perfect Statin?

A: All Statins - natural or artificial - lower cholesterol by blocking the same essential enzyme. In 1985, Harwood, et. al., discovered that ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is the human body's natural HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, without the liver-destroying potential. When Vitamin C levels are low, the body compensates and manufactures more cholesterol. When serum levels are high, Vitamin C inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, which predictably lowers cholesterol.
